Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel- Stockholm Sweden

Last week, Travelmista was on a business trip to Stockholm Sweden. While visiting Stockholm in January is not the top of his list, he had to be there and was going to make the best of it. The reason he choose the Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel was because of the close proximity to Arlanda Express which is a express train to downtown Stockholm from the Arlanda (ARN) Airport. Taxi can be very expensive so the easy and low cost made it ideal. The Arlanda Express was approximately $40 USD each way. He was told that if he took a taxi it would be around $200 USD each way. The other reason he choose a Club Carlson property was because of the Q1 promotion Triple Point Returns. Now currently from running from January 8 to March 15, 2013. If you register for the promotion you can earn triple points on hotel stays including food and beverages charges to your room . When staying at select Club Carlson properties. Travelmista earned 62,000 points for a one week stay which is enough for free night stay. (Redemption stays range but typically 50,000)

The Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel was a nice modern hotel with as you can expect Scandinavian influences. For some reason he just could not get over the cold wood floor in the hotel room. Even though this is very typical he thought it made the room cold. He was convinced that the thermostat was for not working as he continued to be cold the entire stay. The bathroom was nice and modern with an open concept shower stall. The work out facility was in the basement of the hotel and was part of the SATS heath center. So it was fully staffed and had more equipment than a typical hotel workout room. He never had a problem using the equipment but did say that club was busy. The internet was free but he continued to have issues connecting. We tried to Skype and Facetime but it was slow and didn't several continuous outages. It seemed to be better in the early morning Stockholm time. Maybe due to too many people using the internet during prime time. It continued to be an issue all week.

On the last night Travelmista visited the sky bar on the eleventh floor. It was Friday night and it was busy but had a great view of the city. It was a nice hotel but would next time he hopes to visit in the summer!
