Viva London 2 for 1 deals- London Trip Report Day Three

This is part 3 of Viva London a series of post on London. See the bottom for links to more posts.

Day three in London started by switching hotels to the Radisson Blu Edwardian Bloomsbury St. Back in 1999 I would walk by this hotel on the way to school and say "Wow, that is a really nice hotel, Maybe one day I will be able to stay at that hotel. And now with points it is possible!  So going back to London, I definitely wanted to try it out with our Club Carlson points. The hotel was 50,000 points per night. But now after staying at this property I will say I was disappointed. The room was nice but the walls were paper thin and I could hear everything that was going on in the room next door at 3am. The service was terrible. I had asked the concierge desk to help with a reservation for High Tea. He said he would call our cell phone with a time but never did. Check-out was also very time consuming.  Next time I would just stay at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Mercer Street with the better location. After wanting to stay at this property for so long and having high hopes. It was a let down that the service was so bad.

After the room change we went to London Eye to miss the crowds. I had read that if you had a ticket from the National Rail you could get a 2 for 1 deal. Click here for the website to this deal.  You must go on and download the vouchers and print them prior to visiting. There were several activities on the website that you can select from for a 2 for 1 discount. The cost of the tickets using the 2 for 1 offer were about $15USD per person which was very reasonable for London. The wait was 30 minutes and we ended up enjoying the ride unlike the Singapore Flyer which we renamed the Singapore Cryer. 🙂 Due to being stuck in a pod with screaming children. The London Eye gives you a good over view of the entire city. I would love to ride again at night.

For our next stop we made our way over to Churchill's War Room. Again we used our 2 for 1 voucher! Cha-Ching! It took about an hour to see all the underground rooms. It was a self guided tour so you could go at your speed. It was very interesting to see since most of the rooms were untouched since World War 2. There was lots of info on Churchill life. The cost using the 2 for 1 deal was $13USD per person.

We then walk through St. James Park on our way to Buckingham Palace. The weather was very pleasant we enjoyed our stroll and coffee. We took pictures at Buckingham and Victoria statue and then contuted to walk towards Hyde Park to the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain. It was a long walk but very enjoyable to stroll through the parks. The Diana fountain starts at the top and flows in two directions to symbolize Princess Diana's life.

Then we made our way to the Science Museum because Travelmista is a science geek! We played in the huge museum for over an hour. The SM is really great for kids it would be easy to spend a day exploring all of the exhibits. Highly recommended for kids in London plus it was free. After closing at the Science Museum we made our way next door to the Victoria and Albert Museum. We really didn't have lots of time because it was closing but the V&A Museum has some great exhibits such as Hollywood Costume exhibit that we just missed. Make sure to check out exhibit times not to be disappointed. We were able to see the modern Dale Chihully Chandelier that was a stark modern contract from the traditional V&A building.  For dinner that night we stopped by a local pub and then made our way to Kensington Creperie Ltd. which Travelmista declared as the "World's Best Crepe".
